Security Verification in Vehicular Adhoc Network Using BlockChain Technology

Overview

Vehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) are experiencing diverse problems nowadays. The major challenges in the field of VANET are cost-efficiency, low energy consumption, efficient data communication between nodes and security issues. On the other hand, Blockchain seems to be a very warm topic in this time period. Blockchain has a solution to many problems that VANET face, such as encrypted transferring data and authenticity, etc.. For solving the security issues, we introduce blockchain into the VANET. In short, to prevent malicious attacks and retain the transaction details utilizing the blockchain property of immutability, we have suggested a trust system. In addition, an updated variant of the consensus mechanism for Proof of Work (PoW) is being used to connect a new node to the network. In addition, to verify the working status of nodes, a smart contract is also written. The results of the simulation demonstrate that the model can identify malicious nodes in WSNs efficiently, and can also maintain the verification of the detection mechanism.
